Every time I wanted to play a song in Songbird, there was a long delay before Songbird actually played the song. And most of the time Songbird just skipped the song and tryed playing the next one.

I opened the task manager and saw a hugh increase in cpu-usage caused by “svchost.exe -DcomLaunch”

I found a solution found on the internet:

Go to main control panel,hardware/sound,sound,manage audio devices playback click speakers/headphones,properties,enhancements,DISABLE ALL ENHANCEMENTS, apply, OK.
This should solve the problem

If I wait for more than a few minutes after pausing a song, when I press play again it doesn't do anything for a second and then goes to the next song in the playlist. I'm running Songbird 0.7.0 on Windows Vista

Like many others out there, I'm having issues mounting my 2nd gen iPod shuffle with Songbird 7.0 with ipod support add-on 3.0.9.716. I've read through all the posts and haven't found anything that worked, I've reformatted, updated and even tried it on my friends new one and it didn't work on my Vista 32-bit system. Im about to start on Bugzilla and see if the problem can get resolved that way.

What I noticed was when i had the shuffle connected and tried to close songbird, i would get a message saying "waiting for device(s) to finish" would pop up and give me a manual overide. So my guess is that songbird knows that there is something there but finds itself unable to mount it for whatever reason. No one has ever mentioned this before so i thought it might be useful to some one with the appropriate know how bcause songbird really is a great program and i'd love to see everyone using it as easily as itunes.

In linux on 0.7, when the preference option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is deselected, hitting CTRL + T also opens new tabs in the background. Manual tab opening (such as ctrl +T) should produce a tab in the foreground regardless of the "switch to it immediately" setting. It ought to be an exception because there is no reason to open a new blank tab except that the user would want to either visit their homepage (perhaps somewhat likely), or enter in a new url or bookmark or similar (most likely), unlike clicking in-context links to check out later. You'll notice that firefox gets this behavior right by default. I'm not sure if this is simply a bug on linux in 0.7 or simply a UI oversight.
