A remote SongBird?
Hi there :o)
Have you planned to do a «remote SongBird» ? Like if I'm at work, I can listen my music that is on my home computer through a web interface or something like that?
2 softwares did something in that way:
- Itunes: We can see other's library inside Itunes interface on local network.
- Winamp: You have now the ability to listen your music by a web interface
Combining these ideas: We could see our own library inside Songbird's interface through the web.

Well, the main idea was to do it inside Songbird's interface. But principles are there. -
Inappropriate?There are a bunch of media library players/managers that have this feature (remote library/sharing/streaming). I like this feature request a lot, but would have one suggestion to make it even better from a networking perspective.
When remoting to songbird, there should be a distinction between making the library available for Local Area Networking computers & the World Wide Web through some interface (perhaps having songbird installed outside the network & having a secondary internet interface as an alternative option for users to connect if they can't install songbird elsewhere {i.e. work, airports, etc...})
Giving the user an option to isolate these two would be much better (LAN network vs WWW internet). Both should be available, but the user should be able to select one, or the other, or both.

Inappropriate?Oo, great suggestions there songbird1. I would love to see this in a future release....it would put SB head and shoulders above iTunes in that area. -
