Inappropriate?G'day Chris. I believe the feature you are after is "watched folders".
Watched folders watches a folder for changes and automatically removes/adds files in your Library from that directory (at least my understanding of your query).
The first time wizard should automatically configure it on request, but otherwise Tools, options, Media Importer, watch folders tab. Turn on "automatically watch...", and browse your directory.
Songbird will also automatically add subdirectories in that directory as well. So if you watch C:\, you actually watch your entire drive.
This behavior is unlike iTunes though. In iTunes files are copied into a special directory. In Songbird, it links directly to the files in that directory (so if you remove the file from that directory, you will remove that file from Songbird too).
Hope that helps

HI Andrew! This is really a great feature, but I've noticed that my playslists doesn't update with the newly added music in the library until I manually open the smarlist properties and save them again. Have you, or anyone else here, seen this before?
I have my music library on a NAS drive and run Songbird on a vista 64-bit media center. My smart playlists are based on year (2009, 2008, 2007, etc) and all my music is tagged correctly. When manually re-editing the smart list the songs pop-up as they should but not after getting added with the automatic folder watch on that NAS.
Very grateful if someone can help me with this.
