Album art and ratings from Media Monkey??
Is there any way to transfer album art and ratings from Media Monkey to songbird? It doesn't do it automatically. It would be a pain to fill it all in again...

Inappropriate?Album Art should migrate as long as the art is tagged properly to the mp3 file. There needs to be a cover art reference in the id3 tag for it to work properly in Songbird.
Ratings will not transfer over to Songbird. Ratings in Songbird are unique to each Songbird profile.
I hope this helps. -
You're definitely not going to attract users of other music managers if your don't import their meta-data already created by the other players. I was considering SongBird until I read this post. -
Inappropriate?stutes,
I agree with you 100%, but there's no reason to despair. I'm sure people at Songbird will solve this sooner or later. In the meantime, give a look at the following topic:

I believe you'll find a better answer to your question.
I’m hoping it's a matter of time

Inappropriate? The best way to get the functionality you want into Songbird is to create an add-on for it. We completely agree with you, unfortunately, there is more important work that needs to be done before this can be worked on. It is not uncommon for us to take the functionality of an add-on and put it in the core. iPod support and Album Art both started out as addons.

Inappropriate?Any developers care to do it?
A lot of us would reeeeeaaaaallllllllyyyyyyyyy be thankful!!!!!!
I’m crossing my fingers

Inappropriate?I'm also waiting for a add-on. Mediamonkey is great, but Songbird is the future.

Inappropriate?Yup, from me also a very strong wish to import ratings from inside a given mp3 Tag. MM creates a tag named "ratings mm" an so does Ipod as well.
It should be not a huge work to read from a MP3 Tag an write it into the users profile. *hope*
I’m eager

Inappropriate?A couple of months ago, stutes said "You're definitely not going to attract users of other music managers if you don't import their meta-data already created by the other players."
I replied saying there were no reasons to despair. However 2 months have passed. SB is nearly at 1.0. and still I'm waiting to have my ratings available at SB.
If I'm not mistaken, work is being done in order to import ratings from iTunes. My question is: "what about importing ratings from other players?"
I believe this is absolutely essential. Can someone from the company say what's being done in order to solve this situation?
I’m sad, but still hoping it's a matter of time

Inappropriate?I'm also a MediaMonkey user. To get around the ratings issue, I created 5 playlists in MediaMonkey, one for each star. Exported these playlists from MM and imported them into Songbird. You can then change the ratings using these playlists in Songbird.

Great workaround! Thanks for the idea. -
Inappropriate?Wow, a year after the original post and still no ratings/album art transfer. I've got over 120GB of music and definitely don't want to re-do all my ratings. What a pain! Has anyone found a plug-in for this yet?

Inappropriate? You can use playlists to covert the rating. Make 1 playlist for 5 stars in MediaMonkey, one for 4.5 stars, etc. This will let you easily covert your ratings.
