Album art as a column option
How about adding album art as an option in columns in the library/play lists like in iTunes? When you scroll through the list it makes it easier (for me) if there's some visual thingy to look for. Also it it's easier to see where one album ends and the next start. And it looks good :)

Thanks, I just tried this one. Good start but not very flexible. Can't change the size of columns or what columns to include. Looks good though. will do for now i guess :) -
This plugin is terrible. It shows a screenshot of how it should look but when you install it it lists all your albums music in small unnavicable boxes. each box has its own scrollbar. I belive the statment was like itunes (or windows media player) and this is NOTHING like that. -
Inappropriate?And another one: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/...
This one will add a lot of new columns that are usually hidden, including the artwork one, that you can use in the normal 3-selector pane.
Just install the extension, and set the "Show extra column in column picker" to True in the "Interface" tab.
Then, just right click on a column title to add a new one, like the artwork one.
The best is that you can SORT on this column, to group all tracks where the Artwork is missing and give them one.
Hope this helps.
I’m glad to help

wow, thanks for the tip, klint! I have this add-on installed but haven't played with that option yet...
The artwork column isn't as visually appealing as I'd like, but some of those extra columns are going to be very useful :-) -
Thanks klint. I've installed it but can't find the "interface" tab. Sorry, but I'm on a very basic level here...Would you please explain in some more detail -
Inappropriate?Go to Tools/Add-ons, navigate to the Power Tools extension, click Options there, and you'll see the "Interface" tab I was talking about.

Yay, thanks it worked! Now, is there any way you can make those microscopic things a bit bigger (when you make the column wider, the picture gets larger)? And so that there's only one for each album? :D -
Inappropriate?Honestly I don't know about the size. If there a hidden setting to do that or not? Don't know.
Having only one picture for each album has no real sense in the 3-filters view as it is a detailed track by track view, not by albums. It is useful to maintain artwork at the level vwhere it is stored, ie in each track. The album views provided by add-ons are just reusing the artwork they read from individual tracks to present it at an album level.
For the album view; you may use the proposal in the first answer to your initial question (which is to do it via an addon). -
Inappropriate?klint, thanks for the tip. That is a neat feature and I've never seen it before- it's like having favicons for songs :D. I think there should be a way to add columns to filters, so you could, for example, have it display the album art and year as columns in the album filter (as long as all tracks in the filter agreed on the information), like I put album art in the filter in this mockup: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
It seems to make more sense to have album art next to the album names to help you find one, versus having it next to songs.

Inappropriate?Thats cool Tiny but cool. At least now I can see which tracks don't have album art in thier metadata.

Have you followed the tip?
