Album Art downloads but doesn't show
I recently switched to songbird from winamp and i like it so far...
I did a test run with some local media first with AAM installed and for those 4 albums it found covers and displayed them.
Then I uninstalled winamp and added my network drive to the library of songbird.
AAM found and downloaded covers for all the 100+ albums that where added...but it does not display them anymore.
I checked about 60% of the folders on the network drive and they all have a 'artist - album.jpg' in them, so AAM is able to write to the drive, but none of them show up in AAM or MediaFlow.
What could this be?
I'm running songbird on a AMD64 4800+ with Vista SP1 and 2GB DDR memory.
The network drive is the Infrant ReadyNAS 1100

Inappropriate? There have been some problems loading images with large album libraries, I am working on this and hope to have an update soon :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate? Are there any workarounds? I just downloaded Songbird for the first time to see if it could replace iTunes. I downloaded the album art extension and it does actually download the album art. However it shows a "black block" where the album should be. The album in the directory is a jpg which look fine.

Inappropriate?i have the same problem... please let me know when it's fixed!
i love songbird, but i don't like this flaw.

Inappropriate?@edelwater and tzutza89
What OS and Songbird version you're running on?
Try to go to Tools->Album Art Manager and hit Fetch Missing Covers button at the top right.
Covers should show up in a service pane bottom when you play the song. -
Inappropriate?Hi Boris, XP and the Latest Download version of Songbird.
Fetch Missing Covers takes a while and does nothing. However fetching the cover for a single album works BUT displays a black block in Album Art Manager and in the cover flow goodie.
However on the disk itself (the NAS) the jpg is completely correct. So somehow it gets displayed as a black block. -
Inappropriate?Okay I've got it when I change the default location to c:\temp instead of \\cubestation\music\etc... then it shows the covers. It also works when I attach a drive letter to the location e.g. y:\coverart but it does not work when I use \\cubestation\music\covert.
which means that if you keep the default option "use album location" that it will not work. You probably can not have the album covers in the same directories of the album when you are using a NAS for storage. -
Edward is right.... that ab big porblem, i have a NAS full of Albums^^ -
Those black box are really confusing. -
Hmm, yes it is probably not translating the \\cubestation\music\ path correctly when loading the cover. This part is handled by Mozilla through the
