Allow Firefox Add-ons for Songbird
If at all possible I think it would be great if firefox add-ons could be applied directly to songbird. There's already a massive database of firefox add-ons, why force everyone to remake the browser based add-ons for songbird when support for firefox add-ons could be added?
I think that firefox should also be able to be updated independently of Songbird, it would solve a few problems.

Zephyr, it's not possible to create an automated converter or something, it has to be converted manually. There is a Tutorial for Porting Firefox Extensions, that can give you an impression about this issue.
So, there is no general solution for this. If you have some individual firefox-extensions, that you want to use in songbird, probably the best way is to
1) Contact the Firefox-Addons Developer and send him the link to the Porting-Tutorial, or
2) if he doesn't respond or doesn't want/can do it, ask here in the forum, if someone else can port it for you.

Inappropriate?Im afraid it can't work like that. Songbird and Firefox aren't compatible, they come from the same code base the the individual differences between the two (UI and XULrunner patches) require that some work be done to port the extensions. (not too much, mind you, but some, depending on the extension)
I’m a little sad

Then perhaps could you create an automated converter or something to change firefox add-ons to songbird ones easily? -

I'm having some trouble accessing the Wiki that the tutorial is on... But I'm eager to see LastPass and Xmarks ported from FF3 to Songbird 1.2... Maybe I could give it a try? Wish me luck, heh... :) -
Inappropriate?Even if there was an automated converter though, it would need to be updated constantly, and would be totally unmanageable..
