Artist and album are blank for MP3s
Why are the artist and album fields blank for all of my MP3s? I just installed songbird and it read in my collection of MP3s (which reside on a networked drive). But it doesn't seem to be reading the ID3 tags from the MP3s. Other music players (such as MediaMonkey) had no problem reading the meta data tags. Both the client running Songbird and the networked server machine are running Vista.

Inappropriate?Hi orrd,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your post. I think your issue could be related to this post: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...

Inappropriate?I noticed that the other day, but I disabled songbird.metadata.enableWriting and it didn't help. I even erased my library, restarted the program, and re-imported the MP3s, but it still didn't help. It's possible that not having write access to the network share could be part of the problem, but setting songbird.metadata.enableWriting doesn't seem to fix it.
That post mentions that they plan to fix the way tags are read in the Hendrix release, but I don't know whether that will fix the network share problem. Should I re-post this as a bug report? I would imagine lots of users who have their MP3s on a network have downloaded Songbird and thought it just isn't a very good program without realizing this was a bug.
