Broken sound output with Songbird 0.7.0 on Mac OSX 10.5
Mac OSX 10.5.4, Intel MacBook, Terratec Producer Phase 24 Firewire sound module, Songbird 0.7:
Sound output does not work correctly with the (usually excellent, HIFI sounding) Terratec Producer Phase 24 Firewire sound module. To give you an idea of the problem: It sounds like a vinyl record that is played too slowly (plus some distortion).
In Songbird 0.6.x the Terratec Phase 24 Firewire worked correctly.
Sound output still works correctly with the MacBook's internal soundchip in Songbird 0.7.
Sound output with the Terratec Phase 24 Firewire still works correctly with iTunes, Cog, vlc, etc. However, realplayer in the newest versions has problems, too, but it sounds differently, so I wonder if Apple made changes to the core audio API that result in these problems?!?
I use the latest drivers for this sound module.

If the other topic I pointed to before was the cause of this, then installing this addon will (hopefully!) help:

Inappropriate?Hi boneshaker335. This sounds a little bit like a problem that some other users have reported - but the other users have said that it only happens with FLAC files.
Does this happen for you for all file types, or only FLAC? If you've been trying with non-FLAC files, could you try to play a FLAC to see if that works right? -
Inappropriate?Boneshaker335: can you take a look at this topic? http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
It sounds like your issue might be the same, perhaps there's a similar workaround available? I hope we'll have this fixed soon, though - sounds like a pretty nasty bug! -

Inappropriate?Hi Mike,
many thanks for the message. You are right, mp3s do work. But installing the add-on doesn't solve the problem, now I get this error message:
GStreamer Error
A GStreamer Error occurred when trying to play this file: Internal data stream error.
All the best

Inappropriate?Hi Pete. Thanks for testing! I managed to get my hands on some hardware today that behaves similarly, and I have the same 'GStreamer Error' here with that. Once I have a fix for it, I'll let you know.
