Built-in resampling and channel mapping... will Songbird have it?
I think a major feature that Songbird lacks is the presence of built-in resampling and channel mapping controls. These controls allow you to set the output sample rate of the music you are listening to, which is helpful when you use a sound card that is locked to only one sample rate at a time since it makes it possible to listen to any audio you want without having to reconfigure your sound card. Also, support for channel mapping would be great. If you are listening to music on headphones, a built-in option to downmix 5.1 tracks to stereo is very useful. Many players, like VLC and foobar2000, have support for both these features, and hopefully Songbird will as well!

Inappropriate?I think that once the GStreamer backend is implemented, this shouldn't be a big problem. I would like to see a DSP settings panel, where I could add different effects like ReplyGain normalization, Equalizer, Channel mixer etc.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?fully agreed, one of the great features of foobar2000 is the DSP support - considering SB is also built in a modular fashion I would expect this to be implemented soon (no point in having a lot of flashy features if a music player does not distinguish itself on playback quality)
I’m undecided of migrating to SB
