Inappropriate?mix cds for friends are key

Inappropriate?Itunes has intentionally, in my opinion, corrupted its product AGAINST burning in favor of transfering files to not burning products like Ipod etc..
I am trying out Songbird with assumption it DID burn cds. This after Itunes 9 wont allow buring, nor wiill a reinstall of Itunes 8 that DID allow burning now does not.
There are millions of us who cant afford to go non-CD based.
This is an important "have's verses have nots" issue.
Songbird needs to allow those of we millions the ability to burn CDs to play on out CD players---yes they are not relics yet...and in our vehicles.
I cannot afford an Ipod or a dock or anything else....

Inappropriate?G'day,
Songbird developers seem to have CD burning in mind anyway in the long run. They only just added CD ripping support for windows to 1.4 and technically, the device driver they used to implement it, supports CD burning AND Ripping in OSX, Windows and linux. I would think they simply need to hook it up and make a interface (which is probably the hard part).
I think it will be coming, but it probably makes more sense for them in the long run to implement video support first (that may generate more revenue, because device manufacturers with video devices would pay POTI for supporting their devices, which leads to more developers, which leads to faster development).
My impression of songbird is that it isn't a "quick and dirty player", They are building it up piece by piece instead, so that over a slightly longer period, everything comes together and songbird comes out on top. Its the same reason why they are building support for OSX, Windows and Linux.
@VirginVoices, there are $8 mp3 players these days (you need an SD card though, that costs $12 maybe). So overall $20, which is around the cost of a spindle of 50CD-R's.
So, in my personal opinion, not sure price is a valid justification. However, car playback probably is, because its a hassle changing car stereo, and the reception of almost all FM transmitters generally sucks.
