Inappropriate?Yes, sure.
First, install the MTP device addon here.
Or, if you have an iPod, the iPod addon here.
If you plug your mp3 player, it should appear in Songbird and you shuld have options for synchronizing.

Inappropriate? This plugin isn't compatible with my version of SongBird, is there alternative?
My version is:
Version: Songbird 1.1.2, Build 1042 (20090331141709)
Thanks - Dave -
Inappropriate?Hmmm... Strange. They should both work since they are compatible to 1.1.*.
What if you look here and download the 1.0.13.1018 Version?

Inappropriate?i've installed it and restarted songbird, but i can't seem to find the add on in songbird. any help?

Inappropriate?I'm having trouble as well. I have a Sansa e250, and I cannot seem to get Songbird to recognize it when I plug it in. Not even Windows Media Player does anymore, now that I have Songbird installed. How am I suppose to put new music on my player or manage it at all? I installed the MTP addon, and it does literally nothing...
I’m angry at this.

I have the same problem with my Sansa!! Somebody please help! -
Inappropriate?I wonder why this is dead? Why doesn't people have anything to say about helping? It says that Songbird Employee's are ready to help, but why don't they help?!
It's been a whole month since I posted here, and still not a damn word from the staff, what is up your asses? You know what... I'm gonnna blog about your failure to back up what you say about Songbird Employee's ready to help. You ain't ready to help, you're sitting on your worthless asses, doing nothing!
When the whole world finally knows about this, maybe you won't get enough to use your product, and maybe you'll cry about it, and wish you actually backed up what you say. I cannot stand it when companies don't deliver on what they say they are going to!
I’m pissed off.

Russ, you really ought to be a little more kind.
I am not a Songbird employee, nor Windows user, nor do I have your MP3 player, so I am afraid I cannot help you. -
Inappropriate? If media player doesn't even detect it any more maybe your issue is more a problem with windows and not songbird? If your device is meant to connect via MTP then you should check if your device is using the windows MTP Driver. To check this got to Control Panel > Computer Management > Device Manager then find your device on the Tree > Update Driver >Advanced >Don't Search I will choose the driver to install.
If the Device can use MTP this should show 2 drivers the MTP Driver and the MSC Driver, then simpily click the MTP Driver and Next to install the Driver. Let me know how it goes :)
-- PS if this works you will need to grab the 1.4 beta of songbird with the MTP fixes to sync. -
Inappropriate?i've got exactly the same type of problem : i download the mtp device support and then restart and then... nothing; so i plugged my mp3 player (a philips Go gear, but i tried with a pocket pc hp ipaq), and nothing appeared....
please help those who are not programers -
Inappropriate?another new thing : when i plug my mp3's it appears a window written : "the file "g:\autorun.inf " that allows the sync haven't be found"; is that means that the mtp device add on haven't be correctly installed ?
