Can Songbird manage my iPod without storing music on my computer?
Do I have to store my music on my computer as well as on my iPod? I don't listen to music on my computer so I don't want to waste space there. I am primarily just looking for something to manage my iPod playlists and upload music to my iPod.

If you dont sync the ipod, and instead manually copy music on, it will allow it (I don't manage my iPod using Songbird though, because I need automatic transcoding, so can't remember exactly).
Except, I used to work at an Apple Premium Reseller, and I'd STRONGLY advise against it. As with any other electronics, the iPod's do have a limited lifespan, and can fail (taking with it all your music). Yep, had plenty of angry screaming people who often demanded Apple perform data recovery for free after their iPod's broke (because they didn't store the contents on their computer). Or they would sue.
So, depends how valuable you consider your music to be ;) I would strongly advise against using an iPod as a primary storage device...
