Inappropriate?Hey mako18,
You can totally change the artists to anything you want, which if you do for each track would accomplish your end goal, right?
I’m prolly being too simple minded...

I should've been more specific, my bad. I mean associating multiple artists with an individual song. Is that possible? -
Inappropriate? So there is that (you can change artist to "Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney" for example ), plus you can add an 'album artist'. If you right click a track and go into the metadata editor you can add them, or show the column and edit that inline.
Caveat: not 100% sure this is available in 0.7, the 0.8.0pre builds have this in them. You can get a nightly from developer.songbirdnest.com -
No, I see where mako18 is coming from, so let me try illustrate.
I have an album that artists A, B and C all sang on, but not every artists sang on every track (this is typical for soundtracks/cast albums). When I look at a track, I want to see each applicable artist listed for "Artist", but in the Library each artist should be separate. This is typically done using a separator character such as ; or / that the application parses and splits on when creating the Library view.
Frex:
Track 1 = 'Artist: A ; B ; C'
Track 2 = 'Artist: A ; B'
Track 3 = 'Artist: B ; C'
Library filters
A
Track 1
Track 2
B
Track 1
Track 2
Track 3
C
Track 2
Track 3
FWIW, you can see this in action in MediaMonkey. -
Inappropriate? It would be much cleaner and nicer if Songbird had support for multiple artist tags...
They could still be collapsed and viewed using a single artist column.
