Can you specifically prevent an add-on from updating?
I have a favorite add-on, but a later version changed the functionality to something I don't like as much. Is there any way to change it so that it won't update? There's no way to update other add-ons without updating one that I like the way it is.

You are wrong, Songbird extensions doesn't have update urls, the update system is different from Firefox, it check at the add-ons website for new version of the add-on instead of using a specific url.
