Cannot access the web through songbird
Hey,
So I recently downloaded Songbird 1.2 and I'm having some difficulties:
1) Ive never not once had songbird crash before through all its various installations. Songbird 1.2 has crashed twice in 30 minutes - I haven't added any addons or anything recently. During those 30 minutes I was doing 3 things - playing music, organising my library (the new feature on this installation) and trying to log into last.fm
2) proceeding from the last point, I can't seem to use the web at all through songbird. Mashtape doesn't show any info, Last.fm wont log in and tabbed internet browsing only shows a blank page. Funnily enough LyricsMaster still seems to be able to recieve lyrics (or maybe I have them saved already?)
Any comments, suggestions, ideas always welcome :)

Inappropriate?PS: just been reading some of the other problems people are having, it seems its Vista related. However, Im running XP. Still having the crashes with no web browsing capabilities.

Inappropriate?I recently saw that most people are having this sort of problem due to an operating system issue: Vista. However, I'm running XP. Ive had no success in trying to access the web through songbird.

Inappropriate?The internet issue seems to have been a niggling one stretching back from 1.1. I saw 1 other person with that issue then, but since it was only 1 person I dunno if it was worked out..

Inappropriate?thx for the info. I didnt have any problems at all in songbird 1.1 could you perhaps post me a link to the person who had the problem in 1.1? Any info regarding how to sort this out - short of reinstalling and see if that works - will be great too.

Inappropriate?I just tired disabling firewall/virus protection software etc incase they were inadvertently blocking songbird. Didnt have an effect - songbird still wont do anything as far as web browsing goes.

Please post further details to the bug report about exactly what has been tried, OS version, the version of songbird being used, exactly what error is shown when accessing a page, how you are connecting to the internet, what firewalls are running and such, etc.
Hopefully we can smash this bug, because this is now the 3rd case I've seen :(

If you feel uncomfortable with commands, you can install the developer tools in you songbird and select "enable profile manager" under "tools" in the menu and restart your Bird :-D -

Inappropriate?Naegling.. The other way is to go to the Songbird (Profile manager) in the start menu... There should be an icon

Just tried it out - thanks a lot for your help mate. For whatever reason, a new profile seems to have fixed both crashes and web browsing issues - ill make it a point to post this up on the bug page as well.
The only down point of course is installing all add-ons etc again but that a small price to pay for the genius that is songbird :)

meh in some ways it was worth it :) Not to mention reinstalling add-ons made me realise which ones I was actually using lol
