Inappropriate?Sorry, but Songbird doesn't support ape...
From our Website:
Media Playback
Songbird supports MP3, FLAC, and Vorbis on all platforms; WMA and WMA DRM on Windows; and AAC and Fairplay on Windows and Mac. -
Inappropriate?But the GStream it support's by this plug-in - http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/...
There's somthing wrong with adresbar, it never changes =\
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I can only say, that currently it's not supported...
-
не будет тебе апы... по крайней мере в этом году никто компилить плагин не собирается -
Inappropriate?Sorry, I don't understand Greek (it is Greek, isn't it?)...
Could you say that again in either German, or English? Those two, I understand.
I’m sad, that I know so few languages...
-
it's russian. we all want .ape and cuesheet support -
Inappropriate?Hm... now I listening Amorphis - Tuonela.ape (It's realy APE).
I downloaded Songbird 30 min ago. -
ape is not supported AFAIK -
Inappropriate? So, when will someone build the gstreamer plugin against your libraries, releases it as addon and we're all happy? honestly this is the biggest drawback I see in songbird (aside from the tree library navigation or folder navigation). APEv2 tags are not hard to implement and there're lots of opensource decoders for the popular formats like .ape, wavpack, shorten, true audio, etc. I can find you a lot of opensource software able to decode it (even as framework for mac). is just that I'm a java/flex/actionscript3 developer and not really into c++ myself to start coding for songbird...
I’m sad that it takes years to compile a small lib

Inappropriate?I have 2xxGB of zipped/rar-ed APE/TTA/TAK with cue. Thanks to foobar2k, in windows I can directly play them conviniently, but in Mac, nothing can even directly play a tak or ape, and music in zip/rar archive. Since mozilla plugins are very powerful, hope some functions can be add-in, so that I can have a replacement of (foobar2000+EAC+Mp3Tag) conbination in windows. And I think as a music player, it is more important to add-in more popular formats than supports of other dazzle functions like web browsing. If songbird + plugins >= foobar2000+EAC+Mp3Tag, and would not become that slow like firefox with bunch of plugins, it must be the best music player in the world!
I’m excited

Inappropriate?G'day,
Actually, at this point of time you may consider migrating to FLAC. Ape has a lot of legal issues (and its closed source I think) which has prevented pretty much everyone supporting them. Whilst lossless media players which support FLAC exist, never seen any portable media players which support APE.
So, any chance you have considered migrating to FLAC? Flac supports 96khz, is much better supported, and uses open standards. So you are actually better off in the future using it. Furthermore, since they are both lossless formats, it is safe to convert between them :D
