Why not provide something like the eye-dropper type thing you see in some applications?
Click it on a UI element and a drop-down color grid appears which lets you choose the color of that element! A WYSWIG GUI colourer!
Maybe this could implemented as an add-on or would it have to be part of the core application?

Inappropriate?I like this idea. It's what I fell in love with on Firefox just now.
Mozilla Labs has a new Extension called Personas. Check it out, it's awesome. You essentially use jpeg's for your colours. The theme stays the same, which I like, because I feel comfortable in a well known surrounding, while giving the choice of different colours once in a while. I really love that thing.
