Delete a filter item to delete all of the songs it contains

I think it is a strange behavior in Songbird that the user cannot delete all of the songs in a filter by deleting the filter item itself. For example, if you want to delete all of the songs of a certain artist from the library, you cannot simply click on the artist's name and press the delete button or right click it and have a delete option like you can on a song. You have to click the artist, select all of the filtered songs, and then delete those.

According to a comment from Boris, this is an intended behavior. I assume that the reasoning for this is that the only actual items in your library are songs (links to files on your computer), and filters are just ways to help the user group songs together, so an artist or an album is not actually a linked item that can be deleted like a song can. However, I don't think a person using the program actually draws this distinction. If a person wants to play an entire artist, they double click the artist's name and it will start playing all of the songs in that filter item. If a person wants to add an entire album to a playlist, they drag the album name into a playlist and Songbird adds all of the songs from that filter item. I think Songbird should also allow the user to press delete on an album or artist name and have it delete all of the songs within that filter item, like iTunes currently does. It just doesn't feel like an artist or album should function any differently than a song.
