Inappropriate? Not by default! You can find information about how to activate it here:

(Just works for mp3's... rating data of other filtypes wont be saved!)

Inappropriate?Great, thanks. This might solve my problem; I wish to synchronize personal ratings between two computers (which both have the same music files) - this should be rather easy with in-file rating saving.
I’m hopefull and rather puzzled by this system.
-
Inappropriate?Turns out metadata writing is already allowed on both computers - so why didn't the metadata follow the files when I copied them from one computer to the other?
I’m confused.
-
Inappropriate?Do you mean "metadata-writing" or "Write Ratings to the metadata"?
-
Inappropriate? No, you need to set this one to true:
songbird.metadata.ratings.enableWriting

Inappropriate?How did I miss that? :)
Thanks!
I’m thrilled with my own stupidity... And the possibility that this might actually solve the "problem".

Inappropriate?I tried this software last year and you could not continue using it due to this short fall.
Hope you did fix this so i can use it now.
Good music player otherwise.
