Disable File Modification - Stop Songbird from modifying Media Files?!?

I had a bunch of songs go bad. I don't blame any particular application BUT...

I want to make sure that Songbird does not modify my media files in ANY way. Is this possible via some Songbird setting??

I don't want Songbird to write to (update) my media files nor my tags.

I only want Songbird to play the files AS THEY ARE.

Don't care about play counts, ratings, nor any thing of that nature.

I want Songbird to operate in read-only mode as far as my media files go.
