Do I need to import my iTunes Lib in order to export back to iTunes?

Just asking because the export feature doesn't seem to be working for me while all the other new goodies are working fine.

I used Import Media + Media Manger to control my files (which is working great!), but the export feature doesn't seem to do anything when I close Sb, nor when I re-open iTunes.

... I'm on a Mac 10.5.6 with current versions of Sb and iTunes...

    Hey smirky,

No you do not have to import an iTunes Library for it to work.
But currently, the iTunes export feature only exports newly imported/changed tracks. So if you want to export your entire library, you will need to follow the workarounds located in the Getting Started wiki. But you might want to watch out when using the Manage Music feature with the exporter - it does not export changes in file locations (Bug 16641)

Eh, I'll just paste them here :-P :

The current iTunes exporter only exports newly added tracks/changes, not an existing Songbird library, to iTunes (like what the iTunes importer does)..

To export all of your tracks and playlists, use the following workarounds...

To export all tracks to iTunes: Create a new playlist, put all your tracks(entire library) in it. You should now see all your tracks in iTunes that you see in Songbird.

To export existing playlists: Create a "second version" of all your playlists (i.e. Make a "Favorites2" playlist and copy/drag your "Favorites" playlist into "Favorites2") Those "new" playlists will be exported to iTunes. Then you can rename/cleanup your playlists.

Currently, Songbird will not export changes in file locations when using the Music Management feature (described below).
