It wasn't said before:
The answer is "no". Currently there is no way to enhance the sound.
But I'm missing this very much, too. Equalizer is already on the roadmap, but I would love to have even more enhancers (like dfx for winamp). -

atreiu has it right but I wanted to suggest you all head to this bug or to the Idea Kitchen to "me too" it.
