Does SongBird support Winamp encoded HE-AAC files?
I have installed SongBird 1.1.2, Build 1042 on my Windows XP Pro SP2 machine with Quicktime 7.6 Pro with the Quicktime add-on 1.0.1.1018. And I cannot seem to play ANY of my M4A files which have been encoded using Winamp 5.541 using HE-AAC Encoder 1.28a at 48kbps with Parametric Stereo. And NONE of my files will play, it displays "GStreamer encountered a general stream error".
Does anyone know if it can play my files?

Inappropriate?I think this might be the same error as in this bug:
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
You should read it through, I think it states why Songbird can't play it.
Can you play it in other players than winamp? -
Yes, I can play these files in iTunes and Quicktime. Also, if it helps, I also use TagScanner 5.0 Build 525. -
Inappropriate?Unfortunately we don't support HE-AAC, only AAC-LC (by using Quicktime's AAC-LC decoder). To support HE-AAC, we'd have to pay a licensing fee for every copy of songbird downloaded - so we don't.
Maybe in the future!

Thanks for the reply Mike! It sucks that you have to pay a licensing free for every copy if songbird. Maybe some day ;)
