Does SongBird work with old Creative devices such as the Creative Nomad Jukebox 3? (NJB3)
Does SongBird work with old Creative devices such as the Creative Nomad Jukebox 3? (NJB3). This isn't a MTP device, as far as I know. If I connect it with my computer through its firewire connection, when opening SongBird, it enters "data" mode (the player doesn't allow any button to be pressed), and when I exit SongBird, the player exits that mode, and I can use its menus again, so SongBird seems to communicate with the device somehow, but it isn't shown inside SongBird, so I can't use it. Is it really possible to use the NJB3 in SongBird? Thank you!

Inappropriate?I think you have proven that it does not work well with Songbird. We primarily stick to the iPods, Zunes and Sansas of the world because they are the primary mp3 devices in use. Due to our own resources, we cannot possibly test against every mp3 device on the market.
If the device mounts properly in the OS, it could potentially work in Songbird. However, as I said earlier, it may not.
Unfortunately, devices aren't really my area of expertise. I will let someone else answer in more detail about whether or not this device is supported.
AFAIK, there are no "tricks" in Songbird to get a device working. It either works or it doesn't. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your reply! I imagined that being a quite old device it wouldn't work, but just wanted to make sure. Other apps, such as Winamp, do recognize it, so it works. I would be great to use it in Songbird, though.
Thanks again for taking the time to look for the answer. I await for your answer, then, though I suppose the answer will be it isn't supported, since it uses a proprietatry non-MTP system. Only more modern Creative players started supporting MTP.
I’m thankful
