DPE related crash
My Songbird crashes at startup because of DPE protection, which I can't turn off? What's wrong? I use an up-to-date Windows Vista OS.

Inappropriate?Hi Jørn Inge Frostad,
Are you referring to Data Execution Prevention (DEP) in Windows? This is the first I've heard of Songbird causing any DEP issues. Can you please let me know:
1) what version of Songbird you are using; and
2) what your Windows error message says exactly.
Also, please try the following for me: go to Control Panel>System>Advanced click the Settings button under Performance and then select the Data Execution Prevention tab. From there, if I understand correctly, you should be able to tell your computer to exempt Songbird from DEP. -
Inappropriate?Hi!
1) I'm using the latest build of Songbird, that's version 1.0.0.
2) The error message comes up as soon as I try to execute the program, and opens a window with Microsoft Windows in the header, with a blue bar, telling me it's trying to find a solution to the problem. An ordinary thing to happen when a program crashes. When it doesn't find a solution, the blue bar stops, and the message reads as follows:
"Songbird Web Player has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I've tried disabling DEP for Songbird, but Windows tells me it can't be done with that particular application. All of this is a bit tiresome, so I hope someone could help me eventually!
Jørn Inge.
I’m still confused

Inappropriate?G'day.
Pretty sure laura is right (you mean DEP).
Plenty of people used to have this bug. For them, it turned out to be a bug in some versions of the Divx codecs.. More info is available in the original Get Satisfaction topic.
Try upgrading to the latest Divx. It seems to have fixed everyone else's problems.
I’m hopeful
