Drag songs from Library to another app (like in iTunes)
It would be really cool if you could drag and drop a tune from the Library into Ableton Live (or the desktop or wherever). You can do this in iTunes and it's really handy if you DJ and want to use Songbird to organise yr music folder.

Inappropriate?Agree, that's why I'm still using iTunes. I (as many others, I think) have an mp3 player that works like a USB disk and I simply copy there the tracks directly from iTunes library. With Songbird there's no way, I should manually open every single directory to do this!
Quite funny I have to use itunes because the only players supported by its open source alternative are iPods! -
Inappropriate?Hi, I have the same problem and no solution for it. I want to dj with winamp wich is the only freeware to change the output chanel and I want to drag and drop playlists from songbird to there. But this does not work like from iTunes. (But I dont like iTunes)
Have you solved the problem? If yes please send me an email.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? This functionality is very useful, because it saves you from having to track down an actual file when you already have the song or group of songs selected in your library. Sometimes I am playing a song in Songbird and decide that I want to learn it, so I want to be able to drag it right into a program I use called Capo to slow it down and repeat parts. Sometimes I want to drag songs into editing or burning programs. This would be great for a number of uses.

Inappropriate?yes! this needs to happen. I just posted about this in the "Auto Organizing Music" category. The fact that I cant export a list of songs to a folder is ridiculous.
The drag and drop functionality needs to enumerate as a generic file list to the operating system.
Songbird is currently good. With this, auto music org, and an even greater developer base, it could be Great.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? This is a must have functionality for SB. Especially when using external audio devices like mp3 players. This will also be very useful for compilating music CDs. If SB is supposed to be the central music DB, it will have to provide this feature. Otherwise, you'd fall back to the plain old folder administration (which I personally hate).
I’m sure this'll find its way in

Inappropriate? This is a must. I just downloaded this app and since it does not have the ability to do this, it's a complete deal breaker and I can't consider using the SB.
I'm at a radio station... Different DJs use a variety of different application to play their music (Traktor, Winamp, ableton, whatever) and I'm looking at SB as a central library. We use an older homegrown system that has other issues but definitely allows you to drag to any file over.
Here's what's irksome: isnt songbird supposed to be based on Firefox? If you create a blank html page and add a link to an mp3 (a href="c:\mysong.mp3")drag me (/a) - then you can drag a link no problems so it strikes me this would be really, really easy to add in. Just add a link that can be dragged.
Can you guys PLEASE add this feature? -
Inappropriate? What I would love to be able to do with Songbird (and can easily be done using other music players) is this-
Organize music with Songbird, and play songs through the internal sound card into my headphones. Click on a song that I like and drag it to the playlist from another program (like WinAmp or Audacious). This adds (copy, not move) the song to the other program's playlist. The second program is configured to a second sound card, which pipes music into the sound system.
This drag and drop functionality doesn't sound like this should be terribly difficult to add. SB employees, any comment? Or is this something that can be created as an Add-On? -
Inappropriate?Yes, this is what some people (like me) really would love to have. But since jet there is no application like this in Songbird. Tell me when you have fond a solution.
