Empty or 'Unknown' fields
Some of the tracks in my library do not have an artist (or other field). In the filter pane there should be an 'unknown artist' entry, or something like that, but there isn't. Anyone else having this problem?

Inappropriate?I think, It is not a bug it is a feature.
If an entry in the metadata is empty, it is shown as empty.
If you prefer something to be there sort the files by "artist"
select all the tracks with empty "artist" fields
right-click "edit Metadata"
fill in "unknown artist"
and press okay.

Inappropriate?This way it has the advantage that when you really do not know the artist
you can write unknown artist.
( I made it like this with a mix of foreign music given to me once.)
so now I know always how to find it.
I just search the "unknown"
