Exorcising the ghosts always crashes my songbird
hi there,
I'm trying to exorcise the ghosts but always get the neverending beachball.
Is there someway I can reset the library instead - i think I shouldn't have tried to import the itunes libary.
cheers
Ralph

Inappropriate?Hi ralph,
So, are you saying you are having problems with The Exorcist add-on? So that I can assist you, please let me know:
1) what version of Songbird you are using;
2) what operating system you are using; and
3) a step-by-step rundown of how to reproduce this error.
If you want to start fresh with an empty library, the best way would be to create a new profile. You can find out how to do this here:

Inappropriate?Version of songbird I'm running:
Version: Songbird 1.0.0, Build 860 (20081124135419)
Windows XP Pro 32bit SP3
View - Media Views - Ghost Tracks - Plugin performs scan - Click "exorcise the Ghosts! on top tab
Receive prompt - click OK, songbird hangs and becomes unresponsive for 5-6 minutes. Task manager also shows unresponsive. Songbird eventually returns and ghost tracks are now empty in the view pane.
SO it works, but before I let it sit unresponsive for 6 minutes I thought it had completely crashed. I have a feeling most users manually kill the process/task thinking songbird has completely crashed.
Thanks for looking into this, songbird is the first app to pull me away from winamp.
