Feathers keep changing back to the default "Gonzo" theme every time Songbird starts up!
For example, I installed the Aero Bird pro addon for Songbird, but every time I start songbird, it uses the Gonzo theme and I have to go to View > Feathers > Aero Bird pro to get it back.
It's a bit frustrating, any possible solutions?

Inappropriate? That's wierd. What platform / build are you on? Does your bird shut down properly?
-
Inappropriate?Ubuntu 8.10, and I'm pretty sure it's the latest build on songbird, it doesn't have any updates when I check for them.
Also, I think I made a mistake in the original post - It doesn't change back to Gonzo every single time, just most times. Always after a reboot. -
Inappropriate?Well I'm well out of my depth here....sorry! Only thing I could think of - do you use different profiles? you could have a look at the defaults/profile folders?
-
Inappropriate?Yeah mate, I have this problem too. Was hoping to find a "Set as Default" checkbox somewhere, but the Options pane doesn't look like it has anything related to Feathers. (Gonzo has "(default)" as a suffix in the View -> Feathers menu).
Ubuntu 9.04 - Songbird 1.1.2, Build 1042 (20090331141709)

Inappropriate? How did you guys installed Songbird? With the original tar-ball from getsongbird.com or did you use an installer from another site?
Sounds like a problem with the file-rights to me. This usually happens if people don't use the official download but use an installer-packet from somewhere else instead. -
Inappropriate?G'day, sorry for the late reply.
I installed from the original tarball.
There doesn't seem to be anything particularly alarming about my permissions, both in the app's folder and the ~/.songbird2 folder.
Is there any particular configuration file/folder you would like me to check out?
cheers -
Hm, no. If you used the official download, and extracted the tar-ball into your users home-directory, then I'm out of ideas, because this is working well for me. Sorry. Maybe someone else can help... -
Inappropriate?Sorry mate, scratch that, I just had a major brain melt :)
I've actually been using Songbird for the past 10 days or so and haven't had Gonzo return again.
Furthermore, a quick check of changing the theme to another theme, exiting, reopening, exiting, restarting computer and reopening couldn't replicate the initial problem.
You may have been right about the permissions, and if not, it must have been something about my environment.
thanks for offering the help anyhow.
cheers.
