File organization problem
Hello,
I have installed Songbird 0.6.1 as I use an iMac with PowerPC. With iTunes I had some annoying problems, that is why I searched for an other solution. I cannot import my music from iTunes - there was some kind of file organization problem - just like in Songbird now, so I can not set my Library Path, it doesn't want to work. How can I use my songbird?? Please help me!

Inappropriate?Hi Szabina, you should definitely try a newer Songbird version. Songbird stopped official PPC-Support on 0.6.1, but there are contributed builds of newer Versions. You can get the latest PPC-Version here:

Wow, it was so quick! Thanks for your help a lot! Everything was succesfull :)
..but..a newer problem attacked me after importing music. Songbird doesn't really want to play music, it seems to be a bit overhelmed, it is so slow, I have to wait minutes (I have more than 10 000 songs in the library - is it normally in this case??) and after that it's tryin' to play, my songs are just twirling after each other without any result (I mean nothing can be heard).. What could be the solution?
Sorry for being such a hard end user..

Hmmm, no, this is not normal. I'm not on PPC myself, so I'm afraid I can't really help you. Maybe someone else with PPC experience can jump in...
BTW: Do you get any Errors in the Error Console? ("Tools" -> "Error Console")
It's not unusual to have a lot errors in there, but you could try to look for an error associate with "gstreamer" or "playback" or something. -
Inappropriate?It's very important that you use that specific build of Songbird with "OSX 10.5"... Prior versions of the system wont work correctly with Thomas Legg's actual build!! He's still working on a version which will work with 10.4 (as i've read right now on his blog)

Inappropriate?Hi szamina... unfortunatly i dont see any gStreamer errors which would give tha nswer by themselves.. Did you check which system you use? OSX 10.4 or 10.5

You have to wait until Thomas Legg has got this working or maybe you can update your system to 10.5... Maybe you can post in his blog http://www.the-eleven.com" and ask how things are going on...
