Filter Panes Tag Options Are Too Limited...
Why is it that the 'list' view columns allow you to choose from so many more tag field options than the filter panes? At least adding an 'album artist' (yay) or 'band' (ok, i guess) tag field option would allow better browsing of compilations for those who have their collections tagged properly. I'm really sick of the 'artist' filter-pane showing so many artists with only 1 track associated with them. You could probably win over a very large portion of the foobar2000 fanbase by adding this feature. Also, mac users are dying for an app that can do this. I thought about sharing this as an idea, but I see this as a problem...a huge one that will keep me from using your program.

Inappropriate?We initially allowed for all the columns to be selected as filters but found that a lot of them didn't make sense. We ended up, after much discussion, on the options you see in the latest build. I'll make sure the product team see your post.1 Comment

I actually use both tags because I have a portable DAP that likes 'band' (rockbox enabled) and software that likes 'album artist'. I think the zune also uses 'band', but I may be mistaken. -

Then please add an extra "Custom" option to the filter list, so I can choose "composersort" and "conductorsort". That would solve the issue, I think. :D

Inappropriate?I agree. I have a lot of albums of different artists and the Library is now a mess. The only reason that i haven't changed 100% from WMP is that.

Inappropriate?I really hate the way I can't customise the columns. I can't even look through the list of genres because they're all so divided. Looking at mine now, I can see about 15 different subgenres of Metal. I'd rather lump them all into one category without having to go through and change the metadata.
And the Artist's column is just as annoying. I don't want my 'various artists' albums split up all over the place. And a lot of electronic albums have featured artists on some tracks. They get split up too.
Sort it out, songbird. I need more control.
