had to create a new profile, how to fetch my playlists from my backups?
I just installed Songbird on Windows7, I was on Windows Vista.
I tried backing up (copy/paste) the default profiles, but that did not work. I made a copy of the default profile before I wiped out the hard-drive.
C:/Users/Myusername/Music is still the same music directory.
I need to restore my playlists so I can sync my ipod with Windows 7 and Songbird. Any help?

Inappropriate?Hey islack,
When you copy and pasted over the profile... Did you place your profile folder (with the random string from Vista) into "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Songbird2\Profiles"... If there was already a profile in there, you need to place the contents of "********.default"(vista profile) into your one on 7. Songbird wont recognize a new profile if you just placed it in the folder.
(Head here if im not making any sense...)

Inappropriate?
Thanks for the quick response. But I did copy all the profile from my backup and now I am missing links on the left side navigation bar.
My custom feather, Last.fm login info and everything else seems to be there like I used to have, BUT there is no Library link and I am missing 2-3 more links below library I think. Any help is appreciated.
BTW; No playlists...
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Uh oh.. looks like a sign of a corrupt library file... hmmm, Could you try Uninstalling and re-installing then going through these steps: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/User:Luk...
There might be something with registering and recognizing new things after songbird has already started once... This way, Songbird doesn't start before you move your old profile to the new comp.. so it might help... We'll see...
If not.. do you still have Vista? You could try to export the playlists on there, and import them into the new profile. -
Inappropriate?I uninstalled songbird, deleted all folders/files under:
AppData\Roaming
(only songbird related of course).
Re-installed, before launching for the first time, copy and restore profile just like before, drag and drop all folders inside string.default.
It crashed.

Inappropriate?aha!
Unplugged my ipod from the system and tried again, songbird booted.
However, I still get the same screen as before (no library, playlists, nada) links -
Inappropriate? The only thing I can think of now is tricking Songbird into to getting rid of the bad stuff... aka... upgrading your library to a 1.2 build: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Develope...
it might work, it might not...
make sure you still have that original copy of your profile in a safe place... so you can hope of reviving it on a Vista computer(if thats the problem).. -
Inappropriate?Mike,
I downloaded the latest Vista build, it disabled all old addons and downloaded concert and another one.
The library is still missing, Error console shows this:
Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [sbILibraryManager.mainLibrary]" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Songbird/jsmodules/sbLibraryUtils.jsm :: anonymous :: line 53" data: no]

I’m confused

did you try that on a vista computer or on 7?
and those errors dont really tell much :( -
Inappropriate?grrr.. frustrating... hmmm.....
one more idear... Maybe the library is playing hide and seek... Try to export them via this add-on: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/51
maybe they'll show up outa nowhere... : / -
Inappropriate?I ended up restoring my Acronis backup image of Windows Vista, getting the addon you suggested and exporting the playlists.
Now I have to re-install/restore Windows 7 and test the import. -
Inappropriate?hmmm, so it was 7... not sure why or how that happened.. another user that moved his profile to 7 was successful except for album art disappeared... weird.
