Inappropriate?What OS do you use?
-
Windows Vista SP1 on hardware: SoundMax HD Audio AD1988A (integrated on MB Asus P5B) -
Inappropriate? The reason for my question: for quality reasons I want to use my USB-sound device (Behringer U-CONTROL UCA202, description here:
http://www.behringer.com/UCA202/index... ) as I do alrady with foobar -
Inappropriate?I am not sure how you would do that. There is no way within Songbird to specify a sound device. This would be something you would have to do at the OS level. I am no Vista expert, so you would have to google how to do this I suppose. Songbird uses whatever device is specified in the Windows Vista volume mixer.
Does foobar allow specifying an alternate sound device? If so, maybe you could link to documentation on this feature. -
Inappropriate?Ok, you cannot do this in Songbird as of yet.
-
Inappropriate?Well so much for trying out rc1, uninstalling..
-
Inappropriate?Foobar does this. The last.fm app does this. It's not difficult, just use waveOutGetNumDevs() and waveOutGetDevCaps() to get the names and then use the right device number.

Inappropriate?Ubuntu 8.10.
2 (well, 3 "devices") soundcards installed. Songbird is using the wrong one and I can't find the option to change it? System sounds and vlc or xmms are fine (actually, Songbird 0.6 is still working), but 1.0 = no sound. Is there a shell command/switch I can use to tell it to use a different device?
I like songbird, but this lack of being able to choose the sound device is frustrating. -
Inappropriate?I would like to use Songbird as my favorite music player too, but i cannot figure out how to select my USB-Soundcard neither in combination with jackd nor with some Songbird-preferences to work with it..
How could i change my setting to play songbird on this device?
Ubuntu 8.10
Native Instruments Audio8 DJ
Songbird 1.0
jackd 0.109.2

Inappropriate?how does it come, that a music player like Songbird is not able to do something as basic as choosing where my sound should come from? Even Windows Media player is able to do that! Waht benefits do all the siny features of Songbird have, if the sound is comming from my headset instead of my ground-shaking speaker system? I'm really dissapointed.

Inappropriate?I have installed the new version but shortly uninstalled because it does not support bit perfect audio like WASAPI & ASIO
