How do I delete the songbird media database file and rebuild it?
I imported the wrong files into my songbird database - now there's lots of duplicates. How do i clear the database and rebuild it, without deleting the media files themselves?

Inappropriate? Not sure about just the database but I had to do this when there was some erroneous data in there from a previous version I believe.
The database folder is located at C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Songbird2\Profiles\something.default\db. You can try just deleting that and seeing what happens but I went a different route.
This is what I did:
Close Songbird
Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\
and delete the Songbird2 folder
Now when you start it will be like you just installed the program and rebuild the database from scratch. I'm pretty sure this will delete all your saved settings so be warned.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?mmm
I ́m afraid there ́s no such folders on my computer. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the program again, but the problem remains.
Songibird 2? I thought Songird 1.0 was the latest. Where did you get songbird 2?
Tnx -
Inappropriate? Are you running Vista or XP? The folder was called songbird2 but I am running version 1. The {user} folder is the name of the user you are logged in as on XP. So if you logged in as Kaitain it would be C:\Documents and Settings\Kaitain\Application Data\. Also, make sure to show hidden files and folders as the application data folder is hidden.

Worst comes to worst, follow the above tutorial for showing hidden files and folders then search your computer for a folder called songbird2. -
Inappropriate?I have closed Songbird, then manually deleted the db-file:
main@library.songbirdnest.com.db
After restarting Songbird, this db was recreated automagically.
OS: Vista Ultimate
DB-Path: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Songbird2\Profiles\********.default\db
I’m happy
