How do I enable the quicktime media core on OS X?
I've got some problems playing back media from my NAS drive. In either VLC or Songbird play is stuttering, however in Quicktime or Itunes it is fine. How do I enable the quicktime media core to take advantage of the smoother playback?

Inappropriate?Going through our posts we saw that your comment/question fell through the cracks. Doh! We hope you've found the solution in other Get Satisfaction threads. Or perhaps figured it out by exploring Songbird further yourself. We suggest you update to the most recent nightly build which has many fixes and could resolve your problem.
Songbird uses open source 'gstreamer' and not quicktime (unless it is needed for certain file types, in that case, this addon is what you are looking for: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/23)
