Inappropriate?G'day,
This probably isn't the right place to ask. However, you can enable hidden files in Windows explorer/my computer (folder options, view, show hidden...), plug your ipod in. If itunes pops up, just ignore it..
Go to the faded ipod_control directory on the ipod, and there will be dozens of directories full of 6546.mp3 like files. Copy that directory off your ipod, right click the directory, and change the files from hidden. Done.
All the files are named in a crappy way, but there are programs out there which can automatically rename and organise them back in a nice way.
This is the pro way of doing it though, there are probably dozens of programs around which are designed to restore the files in a nicer way (but when I tried them 4 years back, they barely worked well). iTunes is capable of copying the files back into nicer directories too if you set the right options.
Whatever you do, DON'T erase and sync your ipod if itunes asks you to, until you are 100% sure your music works.
And next time backup.. Hope this helps

thank you very much! -
Inappropriate?Oops. Forgot, after all the files are copied off and organised (if you want), then you just import the folder into Songbird as normal ;)
I’m silly
