Inappropriate?click once on the song, then press the delete key. Or, optionally, right click the song, then click "remove".
Note:
You must do this while in your library. deleting a song from a playlist only deletes the song from the playlist, not your entire library. -
Inappropriate?what if the remove key is not highlighted it's not an option apparently then what do i do?
-
I don't know. -
Inappropriate? This should be a pretty easy problem to solve.
I can not remove a single song from a library either. Delete-key doesn't work, and the option "Remove" in the context menu is grayed out. In another thread a user proposed a solution with ipod-sync, but i dont have that add-on installed.
I can't be the only user with this problem!
Version: Songbird 1.0.0, Build 860 (20081124135530)
OS: ubuntu 8.10
I’m bewildered
-
Inappropriate?I just realized this problem only applies to the "Recently Added" list. Still, I would like to delete songs from there.

Inappropriate? You can't delete songs from smart playlists, however, you can change the conditions of those smart playlists. For example, you could make that playlist only display songs that have never been played before.
Rick:
Click on a song in your library, then hold shift and click on another song further down. This should select the entire group of songs between and including the songs you selected.
I'm using a mac, so if I want to select songs that are scattered throughout my library, I can hold down the command key and click those individual songs to select them. I'm not sure what the windows equivalent is. -
Inappropriate?I got a similar problem.
I can't remove any song from my Library. the option is greyed out in the context menu and the del. button does not work either.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? You have to be in manual mode, it won't work if you are in sync mode (under your ipod options)

Inappropriate?I can't delete any songs on my main library. I right click, click on remove but the songs stays and then when I click on it again it comes up with a pop up saying "playlist.xml - onPlaylistClick - [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [sbIMediaListView.getItemByIndex]" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://songbird/content/bindings/playlist.xml :: _onPlaylistClick :: line 1796" data: no]" .... I don't know what that means or how to fix it.... because now I can't even play the songs.. this pop up just comes up every time I click on the song now after trying to remove it.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Does anyone else still have the problem where pressing the delete button doesn't delete a song/playlist? I'm running songbird on OSX, and I can right click a song or playlist to delete it, but when I press the delete button Songbird doesn't delete it. If I press it while on a song in my library, Songbird just doesn't do anything. If I press it after clicking on a playlist to delete the playlist, Songbird just highlights Library in the navigation column. Weird..
-
have you tried command + delete? -
I just tried, but it still doesn't delete anything. OSX just keeps making that sound it makes when you try to do something you're not allowed to do.
