Inappropriate?-Where are those files stored? Networked media? Local?
-What kind of files (mp3, wma, ogg, flac)?
-What Version of Songbird do you use?
And yes, it always matters, what Operating System you use. Not only to evaluate, if your a good person, or a bad (just pulling your leg here), but because songbird is a little different on every platform.
I’m being silly again.

Well first I was sharing it from my other computer but I thought maybe that's why it wasn't working so i um.. unshared it ?
And they're all mp3s... I'm trying to put it on my ipod. And I just downloaded the songbird u get from this site.. Version 1.0 ? -
Inappropriate?Just installed songbird on opensuse. When i try to get my music in, nothing happens... The files are stored on a ntfs usb drive (ntfs, cuz i sometimes need windowz access on it). Files are mp3 and mp4 mostly.
Version: Songbird 1.0.0, Build 860 (20081206160633)
I’m undecided

Is it mounted correctly? You need full read/write access to the files, in order for it to work. -
Inappropriate?Ah, it was not mounted correctly! read/write was ok, tux just messed up my drives... the one containing the music folder ("bigdisk") was mounted as ("fatso"), my download disk, which also has a music folder. only that one is empty... it's adding the tracks as we speak.
sorry for wasting your time and being such an idiot!
I’m an idiot

No problem. That's what I'm here for ;-)
Don't be too hard on yourself. Many times, you can't see the wood because of all the trees (german saying).
Your deeply into something and can't see the simple solutions, it says, roughly translated.
Have fun with Songbird!!
Tyler out! -
Inappropriate?tnx g! was doing too much at the same time indeed... writing a bunch of queries, code in another window and songbird in the third... and since i'm not a woman and not capable of concentrating on multiple tasks at the same time, being male, shit like this happens :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I finally got it to work but now I have doubles of songs on my ipod... And of the doubles the one song doesn't work at all, when you try to play it, it just skips to the next song. So I downloaded the double deleter addon thing from here but there's only one of the songs in my library so it doesn't work... And also after syncing with songbird it deleted all my playlists...
I’m confused

Was your IPod synced with Itunes and then you tried to sync that full IPod with songbird?
That's causing problems. As you can imagine, Apple doesn't lay it's source open. So we can't use the exact same code to sync with an IPod.
Now. When you sync your IPod with both apps. Problems are almost bound to occur.
