How to play a playlist
I'm new to Songbird, so please bear with me!
I've created a playlist, but for some reason cannot find the option to get the songs in the list to play. If I right-click on the playlist, the only options I get are Delete or Rename. If I double-click the playlist, it goes into rename mode.
I've added the 'Now Playing' add-on, but if I drag the playlist to the queue, nothing happens.
Please help!
I'm using Songbird 1.2.0.

Inappropriate?Just display the playlist by clicking on its name, and start playing the first song in the top of the list in the middle panel.
-
Inappropriate?I must be missing something - if I click on the playlist so that all of the tracks appear in the middle panel, then click play, only the first song in the playlist plays, not the others. The same happens if I highlight just the first song, or highlight all of the songs in the playlist. Only the first song ever plays.
It does work if I highlight all of the tracks in the playlist and drag them all over to the 'Now Playing' panel and then play, but this seems a bit cumbersome.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I’m confused

Just a minor update, if I highlight a song in the middle of the playlist, just that song plays, no others afterwards. -
Inappropriate?Ok, that is because you have the Now Playing List extension installed and not set to "Show the track as well as its containing playlist in the now playing list".
To do the what you want, I think you have to drag and drop all tracks from the middle panel to Now Playing.
My way works well if Now Playing is not installed or if it is installed by selecting the above option.
Maybe you could go the this Addon page and ask for a new feature: Drag&drop of playlist node to the Now Playing panel should add all tracks from the playlist.
Hope this helps

Inappropriate?Klint,
Thanks, that solved the problem!
I had 'Now Playing' set to 'Queue the track to be played last'. Changing it to 'Show the track as well as its containing playlist in the now playing list' means that the subsequent tracks now get played.
Nice one! Thought I was going mad for a bit there!
Many thanks.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Cool. But be careful: if I remember correctly, there is a side effect to that setting: imagine you are viewing your whole library from the Library node. Then you click on a song. The whole current playlist (which is actually all songs after the one you've clicked) will be added to the right panel!
This can be surprising and extremely resource consuming depending on the side of the library. -
.....size of...!!! -
I've so done that....
