How to recover 'removed' (deleted) files
I just 'removed' files from my library because they weren't showing up correctly --
in the past, I would remove all files and then search for media and repopulate the library.
(I had not played the titles and so the information had not yet appeared)
I saw the warning about 'removing from synchronized device' but understood that to me my player NOT the drive the files were kept on.
I would better word the warning.
Now, I've removed over 50G of music from my harddrive on my computer.
Please tell me there is a way to recover that.

Inappropriate? Are you sure they're deleted from your harddrive and not just from your library? I've done this a few times(removed all files and rescanned library), and only the entries in the library were removed, not the actual mp3s. Open the folder where the files were saved and check.
If the files are really gone from your hard drive, try using data recovery software. The following links are lists of free data recovery programs.

The sooner you run the software, you have a better chance of recovering your files. Even then, you may lose some of your files.
Hope you manage to fix this.

Inappropriate?Have you looked, if they are still on your drive?!?
You know, where they are saved, do you not?
ALWAYS keep a backup of files, that are close to your heart. ALWAYS.
You're dealing with pre-released software. There could always go something wrong. Besides computers dancing macarena, anythings possible... -
Inappropriate?noblerogue,
Sorry to hear you lost 50G of data....
That sounds strange though...
Removing files from your library NEVER deletes them from harddrive.
I do this every day and have never seen 'removing from synchronized device' message.
This message is for devices mounted in Songbird and set to automatic sync mode.
Did you use external drive mounted as USB device to your machine USB port???
