How to Sync a Creative Zen

I'm afraid, Creative Zen was not fully tested with Songbird yet.
We're going to test the device with the latest builds as soon as possible.

I achieved to sync my new Zen with SongBird easily, but I wonder if the sync about the rating stars is on the road map. It will be great!!

Version 0.6 worked nicely. With 0.7, it seems they yanked "device support", but gave us "smart playlists". Hopefully in 0.8.

Is version 0.6 still available anywhere? The ability to sync my Creative Zen is more important to me than any of the features introduced in 0.7. Thanks.

Im using the nightly 0.8 builds now, and they work great. Hope that helps.

Ok I just dl the .8pre version of both Songbird & MTP because I didn't know if I was doing something wrong or if it wasn't working. I've never had a mp3 player nor have I sync anything so I didn't know what it should look like or what should happen. Here's what did happen after updating. I'm using a Creative Zen X-F btw.

Under Concerts in the left pane, my Zen showed up. I clicked on it, and there is a place to make your selections for what you want to sync. I made the selection, and it sync. When it was finished, there was a message in the upper right hand corner, and an OK button.

I have now completed my 1st sync!

Ahh, didn't even see the nightly add-on builds. Sync is working now.

I've upgraded to 0.8pre nightly plus MPT nightly addon and worked like a charm. All synced up now!!

if songbird will interface with the Zen properly, i wouldnt use my zune. the beauty of the zune is that once you plug it into the computer, everything is automatically synced, podcasts and the like

1.0 is giving me fits when trying to sync with my Zen.

1.0 hoses my Zen 32GB. I connect the Zen to the computer, all works great. I can sync with Windows Media Player or the Zen Media Explorer. As soon as I launch Songbird, the Zen goes black, and the only way to get it back is to reset using the pinhole. MTP plugin is enabled.

My Zen 8GB does show up and I can manually add/delete songs with Songbird 1.0. However, I was unable to make it to sync.

My Creative Zen 32 GB will not sync with version 1.0. It only displays an error message. and under "Details" says only "Unexpected".
