Perhaps someone can create a translation, because it is written in German.

Inappropriate?I have contacted the Author of the HowTo and have invited him to come here to translate it. Hope he comes. Else, I will translate it myself of course.

Inappropriate? Here is the translation (sorry, but i only learned english in school)
It is important to have your old profile, if you can start songbird with this one, you can try the "db" folder of your profile into a new generated one. In the first step you have to open a new tab (Ctrl-T) and then you have to go into the configuration of Songbird "about:config"
There you have to change the variable
songbird.metadata.ratings.enableWriting
from false into true. This causes that Songbird tries to write the ratings into the mp3 files (mostly it works, but only songbird is able to handle this. Windows or Winamp will not recognise it)
Now you habe to create a new Smart Playlist "File > New Smart Playlist" which seperates the Songs by their rating. e.g now u have a Smart playlist with every song that is rated with one star. After that you creat a ordinary playlist (file > new playlist) und copy every song into that. You have to do this, because every change of the ratings will cause a change in the smart playlist.
In the next step you have to highlight all songs "Ctrl+A" and then choose "Tools > Metadata Editor" where you change the one star rating to another rating like 2 stars or someting like that. Then you change the rating with the same way again to the previous rating. Now Songbird has written the right rating into the file. When you open Songbird with your latest profile, it will read the rating out of the file and you will have all your ratings back!
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Alternative:
The Add-On RatingFile is able to im-/export ratings and play counts. So you could export from the old Profile and import to the new Profile. -
Inappropriate? When i try to open songbird in ubuntu 9.04, i have the error "segmentation fault". But only when my backup library is there in the profile folder, i delete the profile and songbird works fine... I deduced my library is wrong, and when try to open songbird with this library doesn't run. After I try to open the library with SQLite database browser to see the all my songs, but i cant see any wrong register. I try reinstalling some nighty versions but nothing the same problems, Only with a new profile works, I only need to recover the ratings. Any help????????????? when i paste to the folder profile, the file "main@library.songbirdnest.com.bd" doesn't run, last months works perfectly with the same library (after a close crash i got this problem).

Inappropriate?@chroman16:
christian81 has solved a similar problem with RatingFile, look at the RatingFile Add-On Page.
