HTML5 \'audio\' and \'video\' tags via GStreamer
Firefox 3.5 uses a separate library to decode HTML5 \'audio\' and \'video\' tags.
As Songbird ships with GStreamer anyway, it would make sense if Songbird just uses GStreamer. A side effect would also be that Songbird would support any codec provided by GStreamer and not just the Ogg family -- turning Songbird into a http://www.youtube.com/html5 compatible browser.

Inappropriate?PS: This wish is obviously meant for Songird versions that build on FF 3.5

Inappropriate?nice idea - this way songbird keeps out of the debate over which codec to use in these tabs.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I think this is a great idea. The HTML 5 audio and video tags will make the web a lot more media friendly, and Songbird easily has the ability to handle any codec someone wants to use with them, even though the main browsers are rejecting certain codecs for different reasons.
I read this article about the topic just the other day and it is very interesting.
