I dont want songbird to convert from id3v2.3 to id3v2.4 when I rate an mp3
I have devices that cannot read ID3v2.4 so I have manually converted all my mp3s to ID3v2.3. I like to rate my music in songbird for easier organization but when I rate songs Songbird automatically converts to ID3v2.4 and I dont want that. It also creates a ID3v1 which I also dont want. Note that I have set Songbird to modify the file when I rate.
I couldnt find any options for this in about:config. Would appreciate assistance.
Thanks

Inappropriate? If I go into mp3tag and convert it back to ID3v2.3 it will keep the rating in Songbird so I dont think its a matter of 2.3 not having a spot to put in the rating. Assuming that the rating is saved in ID3.

Inappropriate?Sorry, Songbird (actually I believe it's the tag library songbird uses) only supports writing ID3v2.4 tags. Your easy options are to not write tags using Songbird or convert tags back to ID3v2.3 using an external program (like mp3tag).
