Inappropriate?G'day.
Which operating system are you using (I assume windows)? And did you get songbird directly from getsongbird.com?
Finally, have you tried a few different MP3 files, from different albums? It may be that the first album you tried may not work (which can happen, especially with music which has been "obtained via alternate means"). -
Inappropriate?I am having this problem as well. I am using mp3 files that have been purchased legally through Zune software. It occurs on multiple albums, including mp3 files obtained elsewhere. I have played the mp3 files on Zune and other software and confirmed that they do in fact work. Songbird will recognize the files and they are in my library. But when I click play no music will play despite the fact that songbird thinks it is playing. I have deleted my library and reloaded but that has not worked either. Interestingly, it plays all of my Zune protected files perfectly.
I am using 1.1.2, on Vista x86. I did get songbird from the main website.
Thanks.

Inappropriate?I am using Windows 7 (build 7000) and I am getting a similar problem. I have no mp3 playback and those tracks are once clicked on just skipped a second later. Maybe it has something to do with the native codecs Windows provides?
I’m missing my tunes!

Gday,
Actually, the windows 7 problem is possibly different. In the nightlies there was a bug which was fixed overnight. Maybe try giving the latest nightly a try:

Inappropriate?I have similar problem - when I try to play mp3 the program freezes. FLAC and m4a play fine. Using Win Xp. Didn't have the problem last time I played an mp3, but consistently freezing now.

G'day Kavi,
Does it happen if you create a new blank profile still (using profile manager)? Sometimes bugs in extensions and such cause issues unfortunately :(

Hi, the nightly build solved my problem, which makes me inclined to think that it was indeed an add on - that and the fact that add-ons were the only thing that changed between when they were working and when they weren't (though I'm not entirely sure as most of my files are FLAC). If I have the time I might run some tests but I'll be working with a new run of Songbird anyways (new computer). -
Good to hear Kavi.. And yeah, often it is a problem with an extension. Replicating it would be great, but if its fixed anyway, thats better :D
