Influence shuffle with my rating!
I would really like the idea of an smart shuffle that looks at the ratings of songs so high rated songs are played more often than the low rated songs. With the possibility to set params myself so for example 1-stars rated songs have 0 weight in shuffle, so these aren't played by shuffle, 2-star rated songs have 1 weight to an 5-star read song with an weight of 15 so 5-star rated songs are played 15 times more than the 2 star rated songs.
This would be a very nice feature to use large collections to the best.
P.S. 1 star songs for example are song's I don't listen to but I want to have in my music collection for requests.

Inappropriate? The bug has been closed, but I don't see a way to make shuffle "smart" as was requested. How can I make shuffle give preference to higher rated songs? It is easy to make a smart playlist that won't play 1 star songs, but it looks like after that, the songs are played based on a simple random.
I’m confused

Whenever I have to weight something in a randomizer, I always multiply whatever requires the weight so there are more instances of it - for instance, when looking at what song to play next, it would internally create a playlist with say 5x 5-star songs, 4x 4-star songs, etc...and then randomly go from there. With larger libraries this isn't very efficient, but it's a step in the right direction I would think. -
Inappropriate? The bug that Koshi mentioned is closed because it was a little different from what you guys are asking. This is a cool idea, so I logged a new feature suggestion in Bugzilla to track it. You can keep an eye on its status at http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...

Inappropriate?I think that this is a really great idea--being able to influence song play frequency based on user assigned ratings. To be able to customize the weighting algorithm would be an even bigger plus (E.g. make 3 star songs 10x more likely to be played than 2 star songs, 4 star songs 50x more likely, 5 star songs 100x, etc.). BTW, the feature suggestion link posted above (i.e. http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...) seems to be dead...
