iPod Classic won't sync properly
Hey, can someone help me out? I'm running Songbird 1.1.2, and I'm using it to synch my 6th-gen 120GB iPod. It won't sync properly; when I press sync, it works fine for about 2GB, then Songbird freezes, music stops playing and I have to kill the process. The data that was synced onto the iPod before it froze is not recognized under "Music", but "Other". So it doesn't show up in the iPod, and I can't listen to any of it.
Any ideas? And also, how do I get rid of the "Other" data without taking out any of my music, once I've synced it?
Thanks in advance

Inappropriate?Hi MrPedantic,
Do you see if Songbird is still 'mounting' your iPod? That might cause some freezing if you were trying to sync while it was still mounting.
There is a bug open for larger iPod models that causes them to take a looong time to mount.. (Bug 12471) -
I have the same problem but my 6th gen Ipod freezes after 4Gb and the music appears under others -
Why does the music appears and does not work on the Ipod ? -
Inappropriate? No, it has that bar which says 'mounting device', and then it says "completed mounting device", I press okay, and after that I press 'sync'.
Unless it's still silently mounting after I press okay? -
Inappropriate?I've had a similar problem since Ipod support was re enabled for songbird. After Mounting finishes (10-20min!) I attempt to sync and songbird begins adding files and crashes randomly if I continue using the program while syncing. Some files are successfully added however they are often duplicated as songbird doesn't remove/skip files added on my last attempt. My Ipod currently has 90GB while my songbird library is 60GB. 120GB Ipod Classic (most recent generation) + Windows (same in both Vista 64bit and Windows 7 64bit). The problem occurs regardless of what I am doing (e.g. playing music from library or last.fm or internet). If I do not use the program it continues to sync, but still leaves duplicates all over the Ipod.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem under Ubuntu 9.04 and Songbird 1.2.0 and have found something that isn't quite a solution... If I try to put more than 17GB of music on the iPod 6Gen 120GB Classic, it will show the number of songs, but not the album, artists and it will not play anything.
Less than that, it seems to work. I'm still verifying with some custom playlists right now. I've set it to sync just selected playlists.
I also had to remove from my library all of the non-iPod compatible files (.ogg primarily).
And it does take a long time to mount...
