Inappropriate? You can't through Songbird. Songbird does not do file management yet. It is something that we want to do though.

Inappropriate?I am DESPERATE to find a media player that lets me delete files from disk with one click/command. I listen to a lot of podcasts, when I'm done I don't need the file any more. Most (all) media libraries are built to manage songs, which you collect and never delete, just remove from the library.
I also need to read the (whole) Comment tag, as most names are cryptic and most ID3 tags are the same for each show.
Any ideas?

Inappropriate?uhmm windows media player and itunes both let you do this. with windows media player its an option in a menu to ask you about it. with itunes you have to have your media files in your my music folder (whatever itunes thinks it is) and then it will ask you if you also want to delete it from your harddrive
but... those players arent songbird -
Inappropriate? If youre under windows you might take a look at Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) which is flexible as hell (is it? ^^) but a closed source freeware. You can choose Shortcuts how you like...
I would like to see several features from that thing in songbird like the theme design abilities and the tag management. Foobar offers a very intuitive grid-editor...
Shalom!

Inappropriate?Under Windows ther is a very good program called AIMP2 they have and special plugin to delete currently played song. Without plugin you can just click Shift+Del and song gonna be deleted at the saim moment.
But i'm searching for something like AIMP2 for OS X and sounds like SongBird is not really better then iTunes. -
Inappropriate?I've the same problem with delete files from hard disk and from library. My music files are organized at my hard disk in separete folder once for every artist. When I hear music with Songbird and there is a song who is demaged or others it will be nice when I can delete the song with one click (or perhaps two) out of library and out of the hard disk. This will be a function for more usability. Maybe the function with a question "Are you sure to delete from hard disk also?"
I’m happy with Songbird

Inappropriate?Would LOVE to see this functionality soon. Migrating my libraries off 3 external hard drives and stacks of backup dvd's has led to multiple copies of the same song and I want to clean it all up once and for all. Having a duplicate file removal function would be GREAT!

Inappropriate? It might be a deal breaker for songbird, if I can't find a way for it to delete from my HDD as well as the library!!! aarghhhhh, and I was so enjoying it?
Is there possibly an addon?

Inappropriate?Hi, I just asked this very question, and then found this thread. While I was reading this thread I came up with an idea. This is a workaround, obviously, not a real solution, but. We could change the genre of the files we want deleted to "delete" and then go through Windows explorer and sort by genre and just delete them.
I guess like others said, WMP would do it too, except going back and forth doesn't always change the metadata. It's weird, we have to be able to do it somehow.
I’m busting my brain!
