Is it possible to sort my podcasts by release date?
Is it possible to sort my podcasts by release date?
I originally downloaded them with iTunes and imported them into songbird (which worked fine).
Upon examining the ID3 tags I saw that they all have a tag "releaseDate" in this format: 2007-11-08T08:00:00Z (presumably given to them by iTunes?)
Yet, Songbird doesn't seem to pick up on this tag and the best I can do is to sort them by year.
Any suggestions?

Inappropriate?¿Have you tried to sort them by creation. or modification day?
¿Do you know you can see more columns in the file list right-clicking on the header of the list?
If this does not solve your problem. you can always use a tagger program, like
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
And rename the files, or change the file modified or creation date using the release date tag. -

The columns I have available to me are "date added" and "date modified", both of which are the same date for all of the files.
"Creation date" however, is exactly what I am looking for.
Would I have to add this tag manually to all of the files?
(there are a lot)

Inappropriate?Values for date added and date modified are managed by Songbird itself internally, and (for the moment) cannot be edited in Songbird and will represent the dates starting when songs were uploaded into Songbird.
What you could do is use Mp3Tag to add the release date to the podcast episode TITLE massively, in the YYYYMMDD form, so that they can be sorted correctly by sorting them by title alphabetically.

I had to hack about with Songbird a little so that I could subscribe to new podcasts (http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...) , but you're right. Even podcasts downloaded with songbird don't seem to be able to be sorted by release date.
At least that answers the question.
You hint though that this might change. Is there any mailing list I could join to find out if this functionality ever gets added or is it better to check the latest release notes on the songbird web page from time to time?
